Birds of a Feather…

Awhile ago I was contacted by a client looking for something unique. Turns out, completely by coincidence that she and a close girlfriend had not only both discovered they were pregnant with girls about the same time, they had also decorated their nurseries very similarly! So, my client was looking for something special for BOTH rooms, and one was to be a surprise baby gift!

I got to see one of the nurseries beforehand, and we settled on an altered canvas project. It was a lot of fun to create, and then duplicate without making them EXACTLY the same! And the colors used in both baby rooms were so fresh and sweet, I had a lot of fun making this.

We were going for “girly glam” and wanted to be sure to include a bird motif, since both rooms had used birds (although in completely different ways!) And of course, the fun play on words with “birds of a feather…”

I used lots of layers, different types of materials and of course, tons of sparkle!

The end result, I think, was sweet and sparkly! And both looked great in their babies’ rooms!

Now, for a bit of a disclaimer…I am NOT  a photographer, (stating the obvious right?) so please excuse the terrible photos! When you happen to see a fabulous photo on this blog, all credit goes to a wonderful photographer who happens to be an even more wonderful friend and she can be found here.

Thanks for coming by!
